Hassan Upindi left it late to snatch a point for Moyale Barracks against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at the Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Mukuru Wanderers started the game on a high note but it was the Lions of Kaning’ina who were the first to invade the opposite side with an incisive attack. Raphael Phiri released Charles Nkhoma on the opposite flank but his cut-back was cleared away by Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers opened the scores through their Captain who was trying to find Kumwembe but the ball landed into the net to give the hosts an early lead after 16 minutes before Macdonald Harawa denied Gaddie Chirwa from hitting the back of the net the goalkeeper flew higher to palm away Sanudi’s corner-kick.
Few chances were created in the second half but Moyale Barracks had to wait until the late minutes of the game. Brown Lovemore Jere whipped the ball and Upindi out-jumped Wanderers’ defence to thunder the ball home beating Williams Thole who was manning the posts.
Victor Chingoka Moyale coach thanked his boys for not giving up.
