Moyale Barracks Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Clement Ngalonde, has urged soldiers to strengthen their marriages and relationships, saying a stable family contributes to effective performance at work.

Ngalonde made the call at the end of inter-religious prayers held at Moyale Barracks on Wednesday, where soldiers, their families, students and youths gathered to pray and share the Word of God.

He said soldiers need a positive mindset to effectively execute their duties, adding that this can be achieved when they have peaceful and supportive families.

Ngalonde therefore challenged the soldiers to put into practice lessons from a two-day seminar that focused on strengthening marriages and relationships.

“My message to soldiers is that they should improve their marriages so that we have no more cases of gender-based violence, divorces and stress among soldiers here at Moyale Barracks,” said Ngalonde.

Guest speaker at the prayers, Army Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Kamponda, said such gatherings are important in promoting unity, sharing wisdom and strengthening faith among soldiers and their families.

Kamponda also encouraged couples to cooperate and support each other, saying a happy and stable soldier is better positioned to effectively execute their duties.

The inter-religious prayers brought together people from different faiths within Moyale Barracks, including soldiers, their families, students and youths.
