Newly elected supporters of the Moyale Barracks football team met with the management team one week after their election, on Tuesday, with Lieutenant Col Helbert Lemani, the Commanding Officer, at the helm.

In their remarks, the committee thanked the management for granting them the opportunity to meet.

Owen Banda, Chairperson of the Moyale Barracks football team supporters, stated their intention to raise funds to motivate players.

“We have lined up some activities to raise funds, such as a Big Walk, among others. We are also planning to introduce replica jerseys to aid in fundraising,” he said.

He added that the committee would continue to award the man of the match players and highlighted the establishment of zone and regional committees nationwide by the new committee.

In his remarks, Lt. Col. Helbert Lemani acknowledged the team’s poor performance last season.

“As Moyale, we didn’t perform well last season. Let’s work together to ensure a better performance this season. It’s possible to collaborate and support the team in various ways,” he said.

He emphasized the team’s current lack of sponsors and stressed the importance of working hard to make a positive impact.

“I want to thank you for your initiatives in supporting your team and our team. I am pleased that these initiatives are feasible, and I support the initiative,” he added.

Moyale Barracks General Secretary Omega Masamba and other officers also attended the meeting.
