Moyale Barracks Private Joseph Nyasulu soldier AKA JK Malawi is among 40 nominated athletes who made it into final list of Malawi Sports Awards.

He is among other notable athletes like Gabadinho Mhango, Tabitha Chawinga, Asimenye Simwaka and others.

JK Malawi was among athletes who participated in the Taekwondo open championship where he won the best fighter and was awarded a trophy and a Gold medal.

In his remarks Jk Malawi said it’s been God all the way.

“Let me thank God for all this happening to me, this year is the year to shine, the only secret is to train hard and be confident in everything I do, thanks to my coach for giving me words of encouragement,” he said.

Commenting the news Moyale Barracks Commanding officer Lt Colonel Thikozani Chazema said Jk is torch bearer of Moyale Barracks.

“JK is a torch bearer of Moyale Barracks and a beacon of hope for MDF and Malawi as a country. His Taekwondo skills and discipline are beyond measure. Factors that make him to locally and internationally stand out. He will one day conquer the world,” said Chazema.

Ministry of Sports Richard Chimwendo Banda will be the guest of honour and other top delegates at event.

Malawi National Council of Sports organizes the event every year to appreciate what Malawian athletes are doing in different sporting disciplines, and this year the event will take place on Friday September 23, 2022 at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
