Karonga showed some improvements after the recess, forcing the home side’s McDonald Harawa into a number of saves, and lacked the cutting edge to find themselves back in the game.

With six minutes to play Harawa turned from a hero into a villain, after he was shown a second-yellow card by referee Rose Zimba for time wasting.

Karonga coach Nyambose congratulating Mwansa for the win

In post match interview Moyale Barracks Coach Prichard Mwansa said he is happy winning the game, as his side moved three points from safety.

“Am happy we bagged maximum points today and that’s the way to go. We told our boys not to make mistakes and score a quick goal that’s what they did today, we are going forward to keep on winning and collecting points,” said Mwansa.

On his part, Christopher Nyambose Karonga United coach blame his boy for giving Moyale more respect.

“My boys at first played with fear. They were like giving too much respect to Moyale, and conceded two goals after my players lost concentration,”he said.

Moyale now moved from position 13 to 10, with 10 points from 10 games played while Karonga on position 14, from 9 games with 7 points.
