Ekwendeni Hammers and Moyale Barracks FC played out to a goalless draw in the TNM Super League at Mzuzu stadium Monday afternoon, in a match characterized by missing chances.
Moyale’s goalkeeper MacDonald Harawa and his Hammers counterpart, Chancy Mtete produced standout performances as their heroics kept their sides in the game throughout the encounter.
In post match interview Moyale Barracks coach Prichard Mwansa said his boys played well, but lacked creativity in the final third.

“We played very well especially in the second half we really attacked very quickly, but we missed alot of chance, we created chances that Raphael and Upindi missed, but really we came for all the points so it has happened and it’s gone but we desperately needed the points,” said Mwansa.
Mwansa denied to comment on officiation amid some questionable decisions, saying the referees were just doing their jobs.

On his part, Hammers Assistant coach Lucky Mauluka said they were using youngstars that’s why they lacked killer punch.
“Most of our boys are young maybe they were bit shaky in front of the goal, but the good thing is that we created many chances so will work on that and I believe will find goals in our next match,” he said.

Moyale are still on position 13, just above the relegation zone with 7 points from 9 league games.
The Hammers on the other hand missed a opportunity to move into the top half, as they are stuck on 9th position with 10 points from 8 games so far played.
Moyale next assignment is a home encounter against fellow strugglers Karonga United.
