Moyale Barracks football team Coach Prichard Mwansa has from today Thursday started taking part in the CAF B coaching course taking plac3 at Mpira Village in Blantyre.
Mwansa, a CAF C holder, is among other 29 local coaches who are attending the course.
Speaking on Wednesday when he was departing from Mzuzu, Mwansa said the course is another milestone to him as well as to Moyale FC.
“I want to thank God for this opportunity to be among those participating in this course. It’s a great achievement for me personally and to my club because what we are going to learn a lot, which will not benefit me alone but also the whole football club,” said Mwansa.
The course comes at a time Moyale Barracks football team is struggling for consistency in the TNM Super League.
FAM technical Director and Overall Course Coordinator, Benjamin Kumwenda, said the participating coaches will undergo theory and practical lessons.
“We went through their CVs and Fam subcommittee came up with 30 coaches, and these coaches will undergo both theory and practical lessons,” said Kumwenda.
The course that will be in three phrases from July 7 to 14, will provide an opportunity to coaches to undergo the theory of football coaching as well as goalkeeper training.
After that will be returning to their respective clubs for internship, the second phase will start from 17 August up to 29.
The course was last held in Malawi in 2016, after CAF stopped subsequent courses and directed member associations to develop custom tailored manuals.
