Moyale Barracks FC Advances in CASTEL Challenge Cup
In an intense round of 32 match of the CASTEL Challenge Cup, Moyale Barracks defeated Songwe Border United 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon to secure a place in the round of 16. They will face Karonga United, another Super League side, on November 27 at Karonga Stadium.

The match began with Moyale asserting dominance. In the 28th minute, Emmanuel Allan was fouled inside the penalty box, prompting referee Misheck Juwa to award a penalty. Allan confidently stepped up to convert the spot-kick, giving Moyale a 1-0 lead that lasted until halftime.
Songwe Border United came out strong in the second half, displaying impressive football and equalizing through Given Mwandira in the 53rd minute.
However, Moyale’s Emmanuel Allan reclaimed the lead for his team in the 70th minute, completing his brace.
Moyale made several substitutions during the game, bringing in Black Aliseni, Jimmy Viyuyu, Amos Chipeta, Luke Chima, and Bonface Chuma while resting Charles Nkhoma, Khumbo Mhone, Maneno Nyoni, Prince Phiri, and Raphael Phiri.

Luke Chima sealed Moyale’s victory with a late goal in the 90th minute, ensuring a decisive 3-1 win for the soldiers.
Assistant coach Victor Chingoka expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and progress.
“Songwe is a strong side, and they gave us a challenging game. We adjusted our approach in the second half, which helped us secure the two additional goals. I’m delighted we’ve advanced to the next stage of the competition, and we’re determined to push harder and go all the way this time,” said Chingoka.

Moyale Barracks now look forward to their next challenge against Karonga United in the round of 16, as they aim to continue their campaign in the CASTEL Challenge Cup.
