Head Coach, Victor Chingoka said Moyale Barracks are heading into the intriguing fixture against league leaders, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers fully charged as they seek to survive in the elite league this season.

Moyale Barracks are facing the Nomads while sitting 11th on the standings, four points off the red line with 29 points from 23 games.

Chingoka said the team needs nothing but full points to be safe from the relegation chop.

“We are playing every game as a cup final,” said the tactician. “If you look on the log table we are not safe and we need points to stay safe in the league. Sunday’s game is a must win for us to move to a better position.”

Since their drubbing 4-1 defeat to Silver Strikers, Moyale Barracks are unbeaten in their last three games winning two and drawing once. They beat Extreme FC and Civil Service United.

The Lions of Kaning’ina are facing the highly flying Nomads who are unbeaten in their eight league games since losing to Kamuzu Barracks.

Since losing 7-2 in 2018, the Soldiers are undefeated against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium in four matches.

In 2019, Moyale were 3-2 winners with Deus Mkutu’s double and Gastin Simkonda’s strike while Francisco Madinga and Babatunde Adepoj scored for Wanderers and this was followed by a barren stalemate in 2020.

Moyale Barracks claimed a 1-0 win in the Airtel Top 8 in 2021 and last year they were 1-0 winners in a league game.
