Non-governmental organisation Ungweru has donated 20 chairs and a table to Moyale Barracks Nursery School and Day Care Centre in a move aimed at improving the learning environment for children.

Speaking after receiving the donation on behalf of the Commanding Officer, Second in Command (2IC) Major Zacheus Banda thanked the organisation for what he described as a timely intervention.

“We are grateful to Ungweru for responding to the needs of the nursery school. These chairs and tables will help create a better learning environment for the children,” said Banda.

Ungweru Executive Director Samuel Lastone Phiri said the donation forms part of the organisation’s commitment to supporting child development and education.

“As an organisation, we believe children deserve a conducive environment for learning and growth. This is why we will continue reaching out to different communities with support that can positively impact young learners,” said Phiri.

Phiri added that Ungweru remains committed to empowering communities through various interventions targeting livelihoods, youth development, governance, human rights and environmental management.

Ungweru Organisation was established in 2004 and officially registered in 2009.
