Moyale Barracks Women’s Football Team coach, John Chimwala, has given other Northern Region women’s football teams another two years to snatch the trophy from his side.

Chimwala revealed that despite his team not being at their best this season, they still managed to defend the title.

“Other teams lost their chances of getting the trophy this year. I felt my team was not fit this season, but we still managed to defend it. I am giving other teams another two years, maybe they can take the trophy from Moyale. We thought they would take advantage of our poor performance this season, but they failed to overpower us. Next season, we are planning big, and we won’t give them any chances.”

Chimwala further emphasized that his team will not rest during the off-season as they focus on strengthening their squad for the National Finals.

“We are not resting. Our duty now is to scout more players ahead of the National Tournament. This will also help us have a stronger team next season,” he added.

Moyale Barracks Women’s Football Team has once again demonstrated their dominance, winning the Northern Region Goshen City FAM Women’s League for the second consecutive year.

The team showcased exceptional performance, securing 16 wins, 1 draw, and only 1 loss in 18 league games, finishing with an impressive 49 points at the top of the 2024 table.

This victory not only highlights their successful defense of the 2023 trophy but also earns them automatic qualification for the National Finals.
