Leadership of Moyale Barracks FC this morning conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing works at Mzuzu Stadium, expressing optimism that the facility is nearing completion and could soon host competitive matches.

The inspection was led by Club Chairman Lieutenant Colonel Clement Ngalonde, who was accompanied by Second in Command (2IC) Major Zacheus Banda, Captain Mphatso Dziza, Supporters Chairman Owen Banda and Team Manager Chifundo Mwanyama. The delegation toured various sections of the stadium to assess progress and engage with contractors on the remaining works.

According to officials at the site, construction is now approximately 90 percent complete, with expectations that the remaining works could be finalized within the coming week, depending on the pace of finishing touches and final approvals.

Speaking after the inspection, Chairman Ngalonde expressed satisfaction with the level of progress, noting that the club is closely monitoring developments as it prepares for a possible return to the venue.

“I will meet the Mayor to see what can be done, and probably our next home match will be played here at Mzuzu Stadium,” said Ngalonde.

Currently, Mzuzu Stadium is undergoing rehabilitation, forcing Moyale Barracks FC to host its home fixtures at Rumphi Stadium due to the previous substandard condition of the facility.

The club remains hopeful that once completed, the upgraded stadium will provide a better playing surface and improved infrastructure for both players and supporters in the Northern Region.
