A Malawi-based businessman living in South Africa, through his company Solar Home, has pledged football equipment worth K1.7 million to both the Moyale Barracks men’s and women’s football teams and Volleyball team.
The pledge follows a recent publication by the Moyale Barracks Sports Page highlighting support from the Moyale Barracks Sports Trustees.
In a telephone interview, Solar Home Managing Director Kenedy Mbale said he is a passionate supporter of Moyale Barracks Sports and has always felt compelled to give back.
I always feel the need to support sports back home whenever I can. This is just the beginning I will do more in the future,” said Mbale.
Under the pledge, Solar Home Company will provide eight match balls, 40 training bibs, and K100,000 cash to support both the men’s and women’s football teams, and including 4 Match Volley-balls.
Reacting to the gesture, Moyale Barracks Sports General Secretary Lieutenant Mike Chimwala thanked Mbale for the timely support, saying it comes at a crucial moment as the teams begin preparations for the 2026 football season.
