Our Head Coach, Nicolas Mhango said the game against Kamuzu Barracks that we played during the just-ended weekend was a good training match ahead of our interest-catching tie against the Super League defending Champions, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
The Lions of Kaning’ina who finished as runners-up in Super League in 2014 scooped our first maximum points over the weekend when our skipper, Gasten Simkonda scored the only goal from the spot.
Moyale are 5th with 5 points from three games having played two draws against Ekwendeni Hammers and Karonga United in our two opening games before facing our brothers in arms, KB.
In an interviews with reporters after the game, Mhango said the victory has given the boys morale that will help them getting points in Blantyre for the first for the last 10 years.
“I think we trained well today,” said the Coach. “We have a big game the coming weekend against Bullets. We don’t have an away game, we play well wherever we play.”
Giving his assessment on the performance of his charges against Kamuzu Barracks, Mhango said, “I expected only a win today, I told the boys to work hard and score first to settle down. It worked, we scored [through Simkonda] and we defended the goal until the last minute.
“KB were playing high and long balls, my charges also played so, it was not the type of football that I want from my boys. We have won the game, we are happy,” added Mhango.
Meanwhile, the team arrived in Blantyre on Monday soon after our game against KB without returning home saying that it was the move to cut the expenses that they would have had they returned home first.
