Moyale Barracks Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Clement Ngalonde, Psc, has challenged the Moyale Barracks Football Team to work extra hard and compete for trophies in the 2026 football season.

He made the remarks on Monday during an interface meeting with players and the technical panel.

Addressing the gathering, Lt Col Ngalonde praised the team’s recent performances, noting that the last five TNM Super League matches with the exception of the game against Mighty Wanderers were well played. He urged the players to maintain and improve on that fighting spirit.

“I was impressed with the character and commitment you showed in the last games. That is the kind of hard work and heart I want to see consistently,” said Ngalonde.

The Commanding Officer emphasized his desire to transform the club’s culture by engaging players directly and motivating them at a personal level.

“I want to change things at Moyale Barracks. My motivation will go straight to the players because you are the ones on the pitch representing this institution,” he added.

Lt Col Ngalonde further announced that discussions are underway with the corporate world to come on board and support the team in various ways.

“We are engaging the corporate sector so that the team can receive meaningful support that will help improve performance and welfare,” he revealed.

Speaking on behalf of the team, the head coach Prichard Mwansa thanked the Commanding Officer for the interface meeting and the continued support. He also appealed for more backing as the team prepares for a crucial Castel Cup Round of 32 clash against Bangwe All Stars scheduled for Sunday at Rumphi Stadium.

“The meeting has boosted morale, and we are fully focused on the Bangwe All Stars match. With continued support, we believe we can progress further in the competition,” said the coach.

Team captain Black Aliseni also commended the Commanding Officer for his engagement with the players and proposed that the club consider holding an Annual General Meeting (AGM) before the kickoff of the 2026 season.

“An AGM before the new season will help align everyone’s expectations and strengthen unity within the club,” said Aliseni.
